With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, and for most of us either hating the day or loving it with no in-betweens, there’s one thing we can’t stop loving here at Secure Guard, and that’s security. This week, we decided it’d be best to tell you why we LOVE being the security industry, serving thousands of people every week here in Southern California; I mean love is up in the air so why not?
A security guard is more than just a uniformed guard with a baton in hand. She or he is the one who carries the responsibility to protect you, your family, and or your business. Security guards are actually the unsung heroes of this Era and the general public at times sometimes forget how important and significant they are to keeping their communities safe and secure.
Most people think that security is a monotonous and thankless job, thanks to the negative stereotypical portrayals of security guards in Hollywood where they are shown as people who munch on the snacks while watching a monitor–that’s not the case though. Being an experienced security guard company, we know what it takes to be a security guard. It is one of the most rewarding, thrilling and respectable jobs on the planet. Here’s why….
1. PROTECTING PEOPLE IS A REWARDING JOB
The topmost priority of a security guard is to protect people and assets he is assigned to. People feel safe and have a peace of mind knowing that someone is around to protect them. They are often grateful for the presence of a security guard. Their presence deters the potential burglars and other criminals. This way, a security guard is no less than a cop, if not a superhero. Could we ask for more?
2. THE JOB ENCOURAGES US TO STAY SHARP AND FOC– USED This is another reason why we love being a security guard company. This profession grooms cognitive skills like observation, concentration, judgment, senses, and reflexes. Having these skills are important to sense malicious things and to prevent harmful incidents as well. The years of experience improves gut instinct to spot a malicious person or sense the burning of electrical wires quicker than others. We know well what to do when an emergency occurs.
3. WE PLAY DIFFERENT ROLES Apart from providing security, we perform several additional duties according to the specific needs of a client. For example, a concert security guard is required to manage the traffic flow along with his basic duty. We can be your receptionist to help the visitors and escort them. As a retail store security guard, we can guide customers about the products. We can also provide first aid and CPR in a medical emergency. We do just more than our official duties.
4. CHALLENGES MAKE OUR JOB ADVENTUROUS We encounter emergencies like vandalism, burglary attempt and chaos on any given day. Being the first line of defense, we have to deal with all these circumstances to ensure safety to the many lives we are responsible for securing along with their assets.
We also handle the chaotic crowd and respond to fire breakouts. The list of challenges for security doesn’t end here. As a security guard, we have to maintain constant vigilance at the assigned area observing suspicious activity. We have to be alert, whether it’s midnight or extremely cold.
Despite that, a security guard is required to maintain accurate logs and compile daily reports to hand over to the next shift. The challenges are even bigger when they are positioned at a place where they have to deal with unruly, dangerous and irate people.
5. LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST–IT’S MORE A LIFE EXPERIENCE It is a profession where we earn trust and learn how to perform the duty. Plus, it’s all about the right mindset to develop trust and becoming a people’s person. The feeling which you get from protecting people using your skills is unmatched.
Hopefully, by now, you might have gained an understanding as to why we love being a security guard company. Our zeal and passion towards the work make us one of the most reliable security guard service providers here in California.
